It must be said straight away that the Maggi diet has nothing to do with the Maggi brand, which produces instant soups and food spices. The history of the emergence of this diet dates back to 1979 and is linked to the famous British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. After her resignation, a group of historians examining the file found her diary with an attached sheet of typewritten text containing a description of the menu of a particular nutritional regimen for 1 week.

The week's daily ration was prepared for Margaret Thatcher by experts at the famous American Mayo Clinic (Mayo), which is now one of the world's leading medical centers.

Naturally, it was not possible to pass by such a finding, thanks to which the "Iron Lady" herself kept herself in excellent shape, so that Maggi's diet under the name Thatcher (transformed abbreviation of Margaret) spread all over the world.

In addition to the menu text, the leaflet also contained some instructions on how to comply with it, including a restriction on the duration of the diet for 2 weeks and a ban on alcoholic beverages, with the exception of the possibility of drinking a small amount of whiskey on diet days when meat dishes are allowed.

Currently, the authenticity of the menu itself is questioned, as well as the recommendations regarding the duration of the diet and whether alcohol can be consumed during its follow-up. The Maggi diet in the current interpretation is scheduled for 4 weeks and includes two main dietary regimens with the use of chicken eggs or low-fat cottage cheese as the main product, and the permissibility of taking any alcohol during the diet is completely excluded .

As the diet is based on eggs, its second name is "egg". Losing weight focuses on eating foods that trigger biochemical processes in the body that are beneficial for weight loss and digestion. As a result, there is an accelerated metabolism, a natural process of burning fat deposits, as well as maximum removal of toxic substances from the body.

  • Permitted hot beverages (coffee, tea) must be consumed without sugar or sugar substitutes.
  • Alcohol must be eliminated completely.
  • Diet foods must be cooked in the oven or boiling in water, but broths of any kind are prohibited.
  • It is permissible to add onions and garlic, as well as other similar seasonings, to cooked foods without restriction.
  • It is not prohibited to salt the meals used, but it is best to use the least amount of salt.
  • It is necessary to remove all fats and oils from the nutritious diet (with the exception of a small amount of olive oil, which is used to prepare some dishes).

Menu for 4 weeks

The 4-week Maggi protein diet has the same requirements as the fourteen-day diet. However, due to the increased duration, it is much more effective and allows you to lose up to 20 kg. overweight.

In case of intolerance or allergy to the main ingredient, it can be replaced by cheese up to 25% (the lower the fat percentage, the better) or 3-5% granulated curd (one serving - 200 g).

Meat in the Maggi diet can only be used in low-fat varieties. The ideal solution is an easily digestible, low-fat (up to 5. 5%) dietary chicken, turkey and rabbit fillet.

It is strictly forbidden to eat high-calorie pork (53%) and lamb (18%), as they delay the weight loss process and contribute to the deterioration of the result.

3 weeks "Methodology as a way of life"
